Scenario
Simulated Incident:
The exercise consisted of a complete restoration of the database in real time, not in a simulation. A new database instance was provisioned, identical in class, volume and configuration to the production environment, in an alternative region and restored to the latest available recovery point. The production environment was not accessed or modified at any time.
Objectives
- Test the effectiveness of the current Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP).
- Evaluate response coordination between technical and non-technical teams.
- Identify gaps in system backup, communication protocols, and recovery timelines.
- Confirm roles and responsibilities during a major incident.

- Incident identified via anomaly detection alerts from the SIEM.
- Internal response team activated within 15 minutes.
- Systems immediately isolated to prevent further spread.
